A landmark multidisciplinary report documenting the systematic destruction of Palestinian higher education in Gaza and the ongoing resilience of universities, students, and academics.

Testimonials of Hope from Palestine

Our Universities Live On

Universities across Gaza have been systematically destroyed. Amid relentless assault, siege, and famine, faculty, staff, and students continue the struggle to keep education alive. In February 2024, online teaching began to resume in Gaza, while students carried out clinical training in makeshift hospitals and defended their Master’s theses in tents.

Despite the devastation, these scholars have shown that universities in Gaza are far more than buildings –  they are living communities of knowledge, solidarity, and hope.

Our Universities Live On shares monthly stories of resilience, leadership, and vision from Palestinian university leaders, faculty, and students who continue to teach, learn, and inspire – ensuring that higher education in Gaza not only endures, but continues to embody the spirit of a people determined to live and learn in freedom.
